Bum Marketing In A Nutshell

Saturday, October 18th, 2008

Numerous internet capitalists and enterprising webmasters know the worth of article marketing” href=”http://www.marketingstar.info/marketing/article-marketing.php”>article marketing

Visualize this: once a piece of writing is forwarded to an article listing, it can lifted up by many online and offline distributors.  And since such an article cannot be reprinted without indicating the associated resource box, you’d be able to expose your URL to several individuals.

But here’s the point: article marketing is an obligation.  You will need to create and present at least 4 articles per week just to be competitive.

But what if you don’t have the time to  create and present articles that regularly?

Is there a simpler technique to accomplish these?

You’re fortunate!  There is actually a relatively fresh means that assures to place your website in the front page of SERPs just by submitting one piece of writing - correct, only ONE article - to one, two or three composition indexes.

This strategy is called Bum Marketing, and it was thought by a pioneering online marketer named Travis Sago.  When it was first published towards the end of 2006, it made quite an impact in the world of eCommerce, and for nice explanations at that.

So what is Bum Marketing and how, precisely, does it operate?

Bum Marketing starts with the mixture of the appropriate keywords.  Nothing new you might say?  Think one more time.  We’re not just searching for any keywords.  We’re hunting  for a saying that individuals  actually use to look for statistics online, where such phrase rules a lot of searches but is supplied by only a few sites.

For instance, you have picked the topic “dog training.”  The theme rules thousands upon thousands of explorations each time.  However, the exact keywords of “dog training” brings millions o web pages in the search engines.

The topic is very broad.  If you use the keywords as they are, you won’t be able to acquire a lot of visitors for your website.

The answer?  You have to restrict it.

“How to coach your dog to get the paper,” the exact key phrase, fetches a mere 300,000 web pages.  This statistics is easy to command!

The next step you have to accomplish is to create a composition that will consist the key line above.  The principal line should emerge at least thrice for every 100 words of text.  A 250 to 1,000 word article will do.

The Freelance Copywriting World

Thursday, September 25th, 2008

Sir Walter Scott, a renowned Scottish historical novelist and poet, referred to mercenary soldiers as “freelancers” in his book Ivanhoe. This is where the word found its genesis. Since then, the word “freelancer” has gained new meanings. It became much more figurative by the 1860’s and was finally officially recognized as a word by the English Oxford Dictionary in 1903.

Today, the word “freelance” has changed into different forms: as a noun, freelance or freelancer; as a verb, a photographer who freelances; and as an adverb, he works freelance.

People from many different markets, including copywriting, have determined that freelancing is a better option than regular employment. They feel this way because freelancing offers more control and flexibility over their work.

Today, more and more copywriters are leaving the security of their day jobs and engaging in freelance copywriting work because of the following factors:

* There are a variety of projects for freelance copywriters. The Internet offers more opportunities than regular employed positions. Freelancing helps those who want more opportunities, better projects, and a higher salary. A freelance copywriter can also work on multiple projects at once: They can write web content for one client while working on a sales letter at the same time for another client.

* Fast Turnaround. Most freelance copywriting projects are based upon a timetable and have to be completed within a certain period. These timetables are quite often done quickly, allowing a freelancer to take on more projects throughout the year.

* More Freedom, More Flexibility. Becoming a freelance copywriter can give a person the freedom to choose the place, date, and manner in which they do their work. Though some freelancing does require contracts, freelance copywriting is still a no employer-no employee relationship. Freelance work offers more freedom for someone who does not want to be confined to an 8 to 5 or 9 to 6 work schedule. A freelance copywriter is free to choose their working hours and is their own boss. Because of this freedom, freelance copywriting gives a person more time to pursue other interests or take on more jobs. Many freelancers feel that they can take care of their families easier as well.

* Improved Income. Freelance copywriters can usually bring in higher income for their projects because they are hired for their specific talents and skills. This is a plus because they are paid well but do not have to work full-time at a firm, nor do they have to give some of it to an advertising agency. Though income for freelancers can vary, most freelancers still benefit from it. Freelance copywriters charge by the hour, by the day, or on per-project basis. Others use value-based pricing methods instead of imposing a flat rate. Payments are arranged based on the agreement between the copywriter and client. The payment could be done upfront, staggered, or paid when the project is completed.

Today, freelancers can easily find work through the Internet. The Internet facilitates work between freelance copywriters and clients around the world. These jobs can range from writing short articles, web content, and sales letters. There is a lot of demand out there for freelance copywriters and there are a lot of opportunities for good freelance copywriting.

How to Design better print ads

Sunday, September 14th, 2008
by Dennis Gartland II

1. Headline: 5 times more people read the headline than will read body copy. If the reader likes the Headline they will read the rest of the ad. The Headline is what sparks their curiosity. It should be simple and clearly why the product interests the individual.

2. News and headlines: Readers buy consumer magazines and newspapers to read the articles. If you have real news such as updates to your product or service or recent innovations make sure you put them in the headline.

3. How many words in a headline? Research conducted with cooperation from a large department store found that headlines of ten words or longer sold more products than short headlines. In terms of recall, headlines between eight and ten words work the best. On average, long headlines sell more goods than short ones - headlines like David Ogilvy’s “At 60 miles an hour, the loudest noise in this new Rolls-Royce comes from the electric clock.” have been remembered for years.

4. Talk to Your Prospects: When a specific group consumes your product; Speak to them in your headline - Travelers, Brides, business owners?

5. Purchasers Read Long Copy: Non Buyers quit reading by the 50th word, between 50 and 500 words are where you must sell the product to potential buyers. They will read longer into an advertisement. Get their interest with the headline, Give them a reason to buy in the copy. Make sure the copy sticks so they do not substitute brands when they get to the retail store.

6. Before and AfterAds: Before and after ads are above average in grabbing the readers attention. Contrast seems to work well. If then seems to be well understood by the consumer.

7. Photographs vs. drawings: Photographs work better than Art almost all the time. People like to feel thins are “real.” The photograph should help pull readers in. Plus it must be pertinent to the product you are selling. The photograph must have story appeal.

8. Captions: Twice as many people read the captions under photographs as read the body copies. Never place a photo without a caption. Because Associated Press Style calls for captions under photos people expect it.

9. Editorial layout vs. Art Layout The more an advertisement looks like the editorial in the magazine the higher the readership on most occasions. The art layout is much easier to get by the President of the company you are representing. A good agency will take the time to convince the CEO that he knows much more about their product that the consumer.

10. Test and Retest Readership has been known to increase with repetition. Continually test new ads against the old ones and run the winner.

Multi Level Marketing Pyramid Schemes

Saturday, September 13th, 2008
by Gibson Maseko

Before you rush for the next work at home opportunity (like a pyramid scheme for example) that comes long, do consider a few issues. The confusion lies in differentiating between the true and the fake because there is no clear cut dividing line between the two.

Since not all being offered are legitimate, you need to make sure which of these sites offer genuine work at home opportunities you can participate. Usually it is the naive and gullible who are the first victims to put their heads to the slaughter. Always adopt the belief that you should be paid for the work you do online and not paying for getting a job.

The lure of joining a pyramid scheme program for free to make money simply sounds irresistible to many unsuspecting naive and gullible people. You will also have to buy products of the company on a monthly basis at a specified value before you can qualify for a certain percentage as bonus payment. Everybody involved in the pyramid scheme must buy and sponsor and keep the momentum going irrespective of whether you need the product or not or whether you feel like sponsoring or not.

Earning twenty dollars from a spending of sixty dollars is not so bad but to keep spending without earning anything in return is disastrous. Once trapped in the debacle known as a pyramid scheme you only have two sensible alternatives: you can slog on until the slippery climb gets too slippery or opt out before you get into more entanglements and deeper trouble and more loss of valuable time and money. There are companies that pay for work done on the Internet - you just have to know where to look and how to tell if they are legitimate. Once you have experience working on the internet, you will know automatically which company to trust and work for. Enter forums too to examine the reputation of different companies before you get involved working for them.

A lot of people were driven to the wall and lost a lot of money through pyramid schemes and many types of money making ideas. As the base of the pyramid becomes broader with people are not making any money it collapses and in the end everyone is left stranded earning nothing so that is the end of the scheme. To part with sixty dollars buying products you will never use in order to make a few dollars is not an easy decision to make.

People who sign up to join one of these schemes are not made unaware at the outset that they will have to buy something to make money. Once you have enrolled, you will be harassed from time to time to spend more money on products should you want to start to make money. Well, in order to upgrade, you are going to have to buy that product and take a chance that someone else will feel the same way but in many cases, you are going to find out that you were the only one to do it.

After giving up the scheme you find yourself stranded with sixty dollars worth of product that will go to waste. If people understand the catch behind pyramid schemes, then it would be easier to find real work at home jobs. The need to investigate before signing up for any internet work at home jobs can be safely discounted, in the absence of pyramid scams.

Inexpensive Ways To Develop Lasting Relationships With Customers

Wednesday, September 10th, 2008
by Stu McLaren

Customers are the lifeblood of any business. Having a good relationship with them is paramount if you want to keep them coming back and have a successful business. Here are some creative ideas I want you to write down to make that possible. The focus of all these ideas is on giving to these people. Your focus has always got to be on giving first.

My goal in everything I develop, whether it be articles, blogs, teleseminars, newsletters or any product or service, I try to give you as much value that I can jam in as possible. Building a relationship with you is what is my number one focus, and it has to be yours too.

What would you be able to really do for them is you are on a tight budget?

Number one, why don’t you create an on-line newsletter?

I used to have one myself that I published once a month called Insider Ideas. You could (and still can) sign up for it for absolute free and when you do, you’ll find in those newsletters I just share and give as much value as I can. Typically they’re 15 to 20 pages long. I pour everything I can in to those newsletters. They take a lot of time, but I am trying to constantly give as much value as I can. I always get testimonials from people expressing their gratification for how much I truly give in those newsletters.

Another great idea, which I now converted my newsletter into is a to develop a blog. These basically work as an online journal. I use it as a platform for my newsletter, but blogs are be used in a variety of different ways. What is so great about blogs is that the entries don’t have to be as long as my newsletter articles would have been and they allow the opportunity to keep in touch with your costumer base more frequently.

You can develop those for free by going to sites like Wordpress and Blogger. They are easy to set up and again, absolutely free. You can customize it, you can do all kinds of things with them.

If you want to see how I have set up my blog and get an idea, you can go to www.myideaguy.com and sign up for free.

By viewing it you’ll see a great example of how to develop an online newsletter or blog and provide your customers with tons of valuable information.

Teleseminars are another great technique that you can use to build relationships with your customers. If you do this you really have to focus on the giving aspect - make sure you are always providing ample amounts of valuable information that your customers can use.

You’ve got to make it interesting and make it fun for people. Nobody wants to be on a call that’s boring and dull. One thing I love to use is hosting several contests.

On my teleseminars, quite often we’ve had testimonial contests, creative idea contests and even contests to name various products and services I’ve come out with. You’ve got to make it content-rich, and you’ve got to make it interesting, and you’ve got to make it fun. The focus again: Be of service and provide value.

So there you have it. These are a few great (not to mention cost effective) ways to develop a better relationship with your customers and potential customers.
